How do I open a report in Cloud Reporting?

In Cloud Reporting, you open a report by clicking its name or its Open icon in the report list.

Note: Starting from v6.1, Bold Reports® Cloud displays reports by default in the new viewer, as the appearance of the old viewer has been deprecated. For more information related to this change, please refer to the corresponding section.

To open and view a report, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Open icon of the report, or click the report name in the list. Open a report Report name link for opening a report from the list

  2. The report opens in the Report Viewer. Report displayed in the Report Viewer after opening it

    Note: You can view the report in a new viewer using the toggle option in the page header or by setting your preferred viewer mode under Viewer / Designer preference on the user profile page. Toggle option in the page header for switching viewers

Frequently asked questions

Which viewer opens reports by default?

From v6.1, reports open in the new Report Viewer by default. The old viewer appearance is deprecated.

Do I need to install anything to view a report?

No. Cloud Reporting shows reports in the browser. You need a modern browser and an internet connection.

Can I save parameter values to reuse when I view a report?

Yes, for reports with parameters, through Report Views. Report Views are planned for deprecation. See Manage Report Views.

Breaking changes from v6.x

  • From v6.1, the report is displayed by default in the new Report Viewer. The old viewer look has been deprecated. New Report Viewer shown by default from v6.1

  • If you have previously saved your viewer preference on the user profile page, that saved preference is no longer considered, and the related options will no longer be available.
